Each year, NAVWAR sets small business goals for small businesses, small disadvantages businesses, service-disabled veteran owned small business, women owned small businesses and HubZone businesses. Among the most critical responsibilities within this office include the role as primary advocate for small business within the Department of the Navy and to assure that all reasonable and practicable opportunities for small business participation are identified and realized. These tasks are performed through the use of continuous and extensive analysis of acquisition data, the identification of emerging trends, and comparative analysis of spending and performance by other DoD and Federal agencies. These analyses support policy decision making and help us in managing continuous improvement efforts within the Department of the Navy.
